Stacked stones, also called cairns, are often found on beaches around the world. Cairns can have a cultural as well as a spiritual symbolism.
They can also be made for marking trails in rugged and remote landsscapes.
Sometimes cairns serve as memorials, as a tribute to someone or something.
Stacking stones, making cairns, can also just be done for the fun of it while fooling around on the beach. These images are from the West Coast of Jutland. More precisely Nørre Vorupør.
